What is a Rehab Program?
Rehab programs refer to residential treatment for those who suffer from addiction. A rehab programme looks at all aspects of the dependence, and rehabilitates individuals through psychological, educational and social therapy. A fully medicated detox can also be accessed where required in order to safely withdrawal from alcohol or drugs.
A rehab programme can cater for a number of addictions such as alcohol, heroin, cocaine, cannabis and prescription drugs. In some cases it can help address other problems such as anxiety, depression or eating disorders.
Rehab programs usually combine several types of therapy. Some examples are group therapy, one-to-one therapy, educational seminars, and personal reflection through journal keeping. It is important that the person learns to understand the addiction and the reasons behind it in order to avoid relapse once they have left treatment.
A drug rehab program or alcohol rehab program will aim to help the person to gain a greater understanding of their addiction. This means that when they complete the residential rehab program they are better equipped to deal with relapse triggers that would previously have caused them to turn back to substances.
When should someone seek a Rehab Program?
For some, the withdrawal symptoms experienced may indicate the need for treatment and a rehab programme. Withdrawal symptoms may be physical such as sweating, shaking, and vomiting, or psychological such as intensely obsessing about a substance, depression or anxiety.
Other indications involve the negative affect their drug or alcohol use has on their social, family and professional lives. They may be irritable, secretive and dishonest to those around them. Financial problems may arise due to the excessive usage of substances, or missing/losing work as a result of their substance use. Normal lifestyle and behaviour patterns may be affected, and someone may start to 'miss out' on things in order to satisfy their addiction.

Types of Rehab Programs
Residential Rehab program Centers in the UK offer immediate treatment for those who suffer from addiction. These centres specialise in the treatment of addictive illnesses, and are therefore highly experienced in dealing with all aspects of a dependence. The treatment will aim to address these different concerns at hand. The benefits of inpatient treatment is it provides an intensive environment with on hand support from professional staff, and also removes the individual from surroundings where they may otherwise have the associations and triggers to relapse. It is also recommended that people attend a centre to detox as it provides more medical care and ongoing supervision during the detox period.
Residential rehab program centers overseas also can offer treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. If required, a medicated detox will be organised in the UK to allow comfortable travel overseas once substance free. The exclusive setting of overseas clinics allows the person to be completely removed from their problematic surrounds and focus fully on their recovery.
NHS rehab programs are usually available to those with a severe addiction. Typically the process of assessment and waiting lists make inpatient rehab programs difficult to access and so normally outpatient services will be offered. This can include group therapy, counselling, day programs, diary keeping etc.
For those who are not able or not willing to consider inpatient treatment, home based programmes can be organised privately. This can consist of a home alcohol detox where assessment suggests appropriate, and outpatient services such as community care coordination visits, counselling and specialist doctor appointments. Triage Healthcare offer a range of outpatient services for anyone suffering from addiction and can advise on a range of services most likely to bring about success for all concerned.
How long could treatment at a Rehab Program take?
Duration can vary depending on the severity of the dependence, the situation, and the substance being taken. Typically, duration varies between 4 and 12 weeks.
The completion of the entire rehab program planned and an attitude of ‘seeing it through’ is central to effectiveness (Trathen et al, 2008).
How much does a private Residential Rehab Program cost?
Cost can vary depending on the clinic, duration of treatment and after-care arranged. Triage Healthcare recognises that there is a deficit in the provision of affordable private treatment for addictions in the UK. We can offer advice and access to best-value private rehab for those with a limited budget. If you arrange treatment through Triage Healthcare you will never pay more and in some cases you will pay less than by booking direct with a treatment center.
