A report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) found that alcohol consumption plays a major role in domestic violence, and that violence tends to be more severe and more likely to result in physical injury when the attacker has been drinking.

According to experts, these facts provide another important reason for alcoholics to seek treatment, as successful alcohol rehabilitation can go a long way to reducing the incidence of domestic violence.

Ryan Thorpe, a spokesman for Narconon Arrowhead, said: "There is an obvious correlation between substance abuse issues and domestic violence.
