What is a Cocaine Center
A cocaine center is a facility that will provide treatment to people with a cocaine addiction. This is most intensive when the treatment accessed is on a residential basis. A residential cocaine center will cater for individuals who suffer from the psychological cravings that frequently result when cocaine is absent from the body. Although these cravings are typically not physical or life threatening, they can be extremely uncomfortable. A residential cocaine center will provide medication to help ease these symptoms and make the initial weeks of detox as comfortable as possible.
The cocaine dependent individual must also address the underlying psychological reasons that have contributed to the addiction. Moreover, healthy and effective coping strategies will need to be learned in order to maintain cocaine abstinence in the future. Sometimes simply getting away from an environment and the people associated with the cocaine use can help with the recovery process. This is something a residential cocaine center can offer and represents just one of the reasons why a residential treatment programme is likely to lead to a better outcome.
Once the individual has completed a medicated detox at a residential cocaine center, the remaining time will consist of a programme dedicated to addressing the psychological dependence. In a residential cocaine center, this will involve one to one therapy, group therapy, education around addiction and holistic and relaxation treatments, such as reflexology or creative writing. A residential cocaine clinic is unlikely to cater for just cocaine alone. Most rehab centres will focus on other aspects of addiction as well, and will have professional support available round the clock to help cater for individual needs.
Why professionally detox at a cocaine center?
In most cases it is vital that individuals have the opportunity to professionally detox in a cocaine clinic. This is because the withdrawal symptoms can be very uncomfortable. They include agitation, restlessness, depression, insomnia, fatigue, increased appetite and vivid and unpleasant dreams. Sometimes these symptoms are severe enough to lead to a quick relapse. This can be disheartening and may postpone or eradicate future attempts at cocaine abstinence.
According to the National Treatment Research Outcome Study (NTORS), a detox that takes place within a cocaine clinic or otherwise is more effective than community-based treatment. Although the outcomes for the drug dependent individuals were comparable, those within residential rehab tended to have the more severe and longer-standing addictions (Gossop et al., 1996). Therefore, if a range of treatments can be accessed, a cocaine clinic should be the top priority.
What types of cocaine treatment centres options are there?
Whilst it would clearly be preferable to receive treatment without having to pay for it, it is important to remember that there is an imbalance between availability of addiction treatment in the NHS and the demand in the community. Therefore, there can often be long waiting lists involved when trying to access the NHS options. Triage Healthcare offer private treatment that can be accessed immediately, and work with rehab centres throughout the UK and abroad. Call us now to find out more about a private cocaine clinic that can be tailored around your needs and wishes.
It is possible to access private overseas detox services. This option can be particularly appealing to those individuals who have already accessed help in the UK with limited success. By travelling overseas to access a cocaine clinic, the person is completely removed from their problematic surroundings. Overseas treatment can also represent better value for money in some cases.
Not everyone will be in a position to access residential treatment privately or be offered it on the NHS. For those in that position it can be easy to lose motivation and become frustrated with the situation. We know the challenges faced when trying to access NHS treatment. We can offer advice on alternative treatment options as well as offer support and encouragement during this time.
There is no formal detox medication for cocaine therefore any detox at home may be difficult. In such instances it is vital that professional psychological support is also received.
How long could treatment at a cocaine center take?
A detox alone for cocaine typically takes a minimum of two weeks if it is to occur safely and comfortably. However, it is important that psychological support is subsequently accessed, and so a full detox and psychological programme should last a minimum of six to twelve weeks.
How much does a private cocaine center cost?
The cost of clinics will vary in terms of location, accommodation, and the level of nursing and psychiatric care that is either required or desired. Triage Healthcare recognises that there is a deficit in the provision of affordable private treatment for addictions in the UK. High quality free advice and information is provided to all, as well as best-value private treatment to individuals with a limited budget. If you arrange treatment through Triage Healthcare you will never pay more and in some cases you will pay less for residential treatment than by booking direct with a treatment centre.
