TTP (Trust the Process)

TTP, or Trust the Process, operates a number of treatment centres offering rehabilitation from alcoholism and drug addiction. The programme offered at TTP is based upon the 12 step treatment model for alcoholism and addiction, pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous. Trust the Process operate both residential and outpatient facilities in order to cater to individual requirements.

Types of Treatment Services ttp offers

Services offered at Trust the Process include medically supervised detox, group and 1-2-1 counselling sessions, complementary therapies, creative activities, leisure activities, sport and family days.

TTP hold daily process group which helps the individual to look honestly at their thinking and behaviour with the assistance of feedback from counsellors and peers. They are given the opportunity to talk about real life situations in order to work out how best to resolve them. Learning to seek advice from other people and listening to suggestions will help the individual to build trust in others and also themselves.

The twelve step programme gives new hope, bringing with it increased self-respect. Clients at TTP are given thorough instruction in all 12 steps as part of the 12 week programme. Written work is completed on each of the steps, which is then shared with their group. Counsellors and peers give feedback in group on all work completed in order to enhance the learning experience.

In some cases, one-to-one counselling is needed. Where a client's focal counsellor thinks there will be a clear benefit to the client, sessions will be arranged with one of the one-to-one counselors at Trust the Process.

Keeping a diary whilst at TTP introduces the idea of monitoring thoughts and actions in manageable daily units, rather than letting things build up inside and causing great distress. Daily ‘inventory’, within a structured format, is an integral part of the 12 step programme. It helps recovering addicts and alcoholics to spot positive and negative patterns in the way they think, behave and react to the world around them. TTP counsellors review their clients’ diary sheet each day, giving them helpful insights into addictive processes and positive signs of change. At the end of treatment, clients are given back all of their diary sheets, so they can see the progress they have made whilst in treatment at Trust the Process.

How long could treatment for drug and alcohol addiction at the ttp take?

Programmes at TTP usually last for around 12 weeks; however the treatment duration is dependent upon a number of factors. These include the substance being taken, the severity of the situation, and any aggravating medical or psychological factors. An initial assessment with the team at TTP will help to decide upon an appropriate length of treatment programme.
