Lifeworks community services include a range of different treatment options which include one to one work, group therapy and holistic therapy services.
The lifeworks community services treatment is based on the 12 step programme, and this is delivered through step groups where clients will work on steps 1 to 3. Clients also gain understanding and knowledge of how to use the 12 steps following treatment through regular attendance of fellowship meetings.
Group therapy allows clients to speak with other individuals suffering from addiction. Clients are encouraged to engage with the group by sharing their experiences of addiction with other members in order to reduce feelings of isolation. One to one psychotherapy is also offered to clients to allow a more confidential environment for them to discuss issues around their addiction.
The clinic also offer therapies such as art and music therapy, along with relapse prevention and aftercare planning following the residential treatment programme. Family services offer the opportunity for families to explore their role in the client’s recovery. They will be supported in learning how to support each other through setting healthy boundaries, overcoming the shame and pain that often comes with addiction, and also communicating needs and issues around the addiction.
Clients are encouraged to explore and understand their spirituality and are supported in developing spiritual awareness. Yoga and meditation is offered to clients, and a balanced nutritional eating plan can be tailored to the individual needs of clients.

Treatment length can vary depending on the severity of the dependence, the situation, and the substance being taken. Assessments can offer guidance on the recommended duration of treatment. Residential and detox programmes can vary in their length by several weeks, and hourly sessions are offered with the outpatient services.
